Dennis Woods

Chairman

Dennis, his wife Traci, and their three children have attended La Casa de Cristo since 2003.  Dennis was baptized as an adult at All Saints Lutheran church in January 2001 with his daughter Audrey, 23.  They also have two boys, Dillon, 21, and Carson, 20, both baptized at La Casa de Cristo.

Dennis served on the Men’s Leadership team and also served as Director of Men’s Ministry. Traci has taught Sunday school and the children have all been involved in youth ministries including Confirmation. Dennis is a Project Manager for the Information Technology Services team at Salt River Project.  The family resides in Cave Creek and the children attended (or graduated from) Cactus Shadows High School.

Terri Buccino

Vice Chair

Terri has been involved in MOPS, MOMs n MORE, and MOMS with Teens, in addition to other Women’s Ministry programs, and has served as a volunteer for La Casa’s Sunday school, VBX and youth theater productions.

She and her husband, Drew, began attending La Casa in 1995 and soon after, her parents and sisters joined as well. All three of their boys (now ages 24, 21, and 19) were baptized and confirmed at La Casa de Cristo and grew up participating in children’s and youth programs.

Terri and Drew have co-led small group studies and the entire family participated in the Mazahua Valley Ministries service trip in 2018.

She is a healthcare attorney, currently working for Vitalant (formerly United Blood Services), a national non-profit provider of blood products and transfusion medicine services and research. Terri has served on the governing boards of several non-profit organizations in the Valley and was a member of the Maricopa County Foster Care Review Board for several years.

Doug Schoenoff

Treasurer

Doug has served as Board of Trustee member and Treasurer since 2003. By profession, Doug is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), but is now retired after a career in both public accounting and as chief audit executive with several Arizona-based public companies. He has also served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of Junior Achievement of Arizona.

Doug and his wife, Chris have been members of La Casa de Cristo since 1988, where they both have been active in various program activities and small groups. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren, living both here in Arizona and in Minnesota.

Tracy Spooner

Secretary

Tracy has been a member of La Casa de Cristo for over 15 years and has served on the Board of Trustees for two years. She and her husband of over 25 years, Tim, have four boys who all attended La Casa de Cristo’s preschool. Tracy has been involved with the MOMS Leadership Board for many years, serving as a Mentor Mom and currently the Monthly Ideas Coordinator for the MOMs group.

Tracy graduated from Horizon High School and then ASU, receiving a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught at Liberty Elementary School for over ten years. In her free time, Tracy enjoys hiking, golf, and music.

Michelle Cline

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Michelle and her husband Chad moved to Phoenix in 2000 and began attending La Casa in 2003. They’ve been married 19 years and have two children, Nathan and Avery. Both children attended La Casa de Cristo’s preschool and have continued their Christian education through Sunday morning classes. Avery is now in her second year of Confirmation and Nathan was heavily involved in the high school youth group, playing drums in the youth band and was a Jr High leader.

Michelle has served on the MOMS Ministry leadership board since 2005 and currently serves as the Speaker Coordinator for The MOMs groups and has taught VBX for eight years.

Michelle and Chad have also been blessed to be in a covenant group for the past thirteen years. Michelle has worked part-time for CVS Caremark since 2001, which gave her the opportunity to be at home with her children before and after school each day.

Frank Heldt

Frank is the president of Heldt Lumber Company, a 65-year-old business selling lumber and building materials. He is an active member of the board of directors of several Christian charity organizations, including Fuller Seminary and Christians in Commerce. 

At church, Frank is a PHD graduate, a member of a men’s discipleship group, was an Alpha leader for many years, and a leader of the congregational study of the Purpose Driven Life. 

He and his wife, Pat, have been members of La Casa de Cristo since 1975. Frank has guided our various building projects, has served on the Board of Trustees since 2000, is the former chairman of the Board, former Vice President of the congregation.
