Perspective

May 29, 2020

I will lift my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

Have you ever hiked to the top of a mountain? It may have been a struggle to get there. Maybe during the hike you weren’t sure if you’d even get to the top. Tiredness sets in, you’re thirsty, hungry and unsure if you’ll even get to the top.

But then there’s THAT moment. You know exactly the one I am talking about. You take your final step and there you are at the top. The view is breathtaking. Every pain and doubt you just had are quickly gone. You get to see that beauty that God created and you experience a view you couldn’t have even imagined just moments ago.

That’s exactly how I envision my life with God. Sometime’s things get tough. It may feel like  I will never get through it or get to “the top.” Then, I look up to Him and suddenly my perspective changes. The fear and doubt is gone because I choose to look up to God and trust Him.  I challenge you to stop in the midst of your struggle. Look up to God and remember that He is always with you and will guide you to the top of any mountain. After all, we know that the view WITH Him is absolutely breathtaking.

Serve God in All That You Do

May 27, 2020

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23

The above passage in Colossians comes from Paul’s letters. Here, Paul presents the importance of integrity and excellence in every aspect of our life. We are called to do different things in our lives. Maybe it’s working full time, maybe it’s being a stay at home mom or maybe it’s something completely different that you had never imagined. No matter what we are called to do, we want to be able to say that we served God with our whole heart.

Sometimes we get very caught up in our “spiritual lives.” Things such as time with God, prayer, church, small group etc. become our main focus instead of our everyday lives. God wants to be in in our “everyday” as much as he wants to be in those other things.

God wants us to serve Him with excellence no matter what our work may be. Today I challenge you to include God in your everyday. Serve Him in whatever your calling is and do it with your whole heart.

God is love

May 25, 2020

I have loved you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3

God’s love is unconditional. He pours His love on us daily. No matter our imperfections, what we’ve been through or decisions we’ve made, God’s love is with us. He wants to mold us and shape us into something beautiful.

There’s times in our lives where we may feel alone and that no one cares.  We may feel like a struggle is too overwhelming and too big for us, and that’s exactly it! It IS too big for us alone.

When we pray to God and communicate with him constantly, He reminds us of His amazing love. God is love.

Build Each Other Up

May 23, 2020

“Let everything you say be good and helpful.” Ephesians 4:29

Have you ever had a friend say something to you at just the right time? Maybe you were having a rough day and they didn’t even know it yet but somehow they said just the right words to build you up. It is an amazing feeling to be the recipient of encouraging words.

During this time while we are separated physically, it is incredibly important to build each other up even though we may feel far away.

Let someone in your life know that they are not alone and most importantly that God is with them. Share an encouraging message and let God’s light shine.

Give Thanks

May 15, 2020

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His Love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Do you ever find it difficult to give thanks when times are tough? Sometimes it’s easy to wonder where God is in the midst of hardship. It’s hard to see the glimpse of light in the darkness.

In my life, I have found that giving thanks to God during difficult times is what helps to get me through them. Finding God in the midst of a struggle has strengthened not only my relationship with God, but how i look at my struggle. God is always good. He helps us grow, he helps us mature and He is with us through everything.

The times in your life when you find it the most difficult to give thanks are the times where you need to give thanks the most.

Thank God for the good in your life. Find the hidden blessing. Remember that His love has left you, for His love endures forever.
