Community in a new way

April 5, 2020

“I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians 1:3

Life has changed drastically over the last few weeks. While many moments are filled with overwhelming feelings of doubt, anxiety and uncertainty, more have been filled with thankfulness.

This time is truly a time to think of others. It is so easy to be wrapped up in our own new way of life as we navigate our new normal (which for the record hasn’t been easy.) When i stop for just a moment, I think about how truly lucky I am to be in a house WITH my family and people surrounding me. Many people do not have this same luxury during this time. They may be in a nursing home, live by themselves or simply not surrounded by people in the way they are used to.

These are the people that I would like to challenge you to pray for. Thank God that they are in your life. Take a moment to send a text, send a card or make a phone call. Have your kids FaceTime someone who you may not talk to regularly. Write an encouraging note. Don’t have a stamp? Text or email them a picture of the letter.

Got created us to be in community. While we may not physically be able to be together, we can continue to “be together” in other ways. Thank you God for the amazing gift of community you have given us.
