“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:29-30
It’s easy to let doubt and fear creep in during these turbulent times. When we take our eyes off Jesus, our Savior, we can begin to sink, to lose hope, or to become fearful. It’s human nature! But Jesus wants us to keep our eyes and minds on Him, not the storms of life, and to trust that He will empower us to get through tough times. How do we do this? By reading God’s Word every day! Daily devotions help to remind us of His sovereignty, that He is on the throne and in control, and that we are not to fear but to have faith.
Jesus, I pray that I will always be willing to follow your lead and keep my focus on You! During the storms of life, remind me that my help comes from the Lord!
