…If God is for us who can be against us?…For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31,38-39
After hearing Pastor Joel mention a “Bible binky” in the parables study, our study group decided to share each of our own “Bible binkys”. This is mine.
When our oldest daughter Steph was in college someone asked her why she was always so upbeat. They had seen her go through a couple of tough situations. Her answer was, “I always know that Jesus has my back.” A pretty simple answer for a very profound truth.
We all know that being a Christian does not mean that you are guaranteed a life of total bliss filled with smiling faces, unicorns, and rainbows. Life can often be very hard. But the peace that passes all understanding is exactly what it says it is. Through good and bad times, happiness and sadness, God’s peace is always there. Did you get a promotion? God was there cheering you on. Did you lose your job? The Holy Spirit was there giving you comfort and strength. Did you have a new grandchild? Jesus was there rejoicing with you.
Lord, thank you for always having my back!
