Christ Jesus said, “Then you will know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32
When my children were young and made a poor choice I always told them to be truthful about the circumstances. Eventually they learned that if they lied to me they were in more trouble than if they had just been honest.
Truth can be a complicated thing. It’s difficult to discern what is the truth. One day we are told that coffee is bad for our health. A month later we are told that coffee is good for our health. The political ads that bombarded us for months offered conflicting “truths” about each candidate.
The only truth we can always depend on is God’s love. When conflicting truths about life overwhelm you, turn to God for help. Pray to him for guidance and clarity. Use your Bible as a guide for answers to your questions. When we spend time in God’s word and in prayer the truth is revealed to us.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of knowing we can always turn to you when life gets confusing and overwhelming. Thank you for giving us clarity to know what is really important. Thank you for your never-ending love.
