The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. John 3:31
Did you know that owls bob their heads up and down to help improve their depth perception? They have amazing vision and by changing their perspective they can see even better.
How many of you just tried to bob your head up and down to see something in the room better? Sorry, it doesn’t work for humans, but you did get in a few neck stretches! Sometimes we are too close to something and can’t see a way through a difficult situation. We rely on our own knowledge and turn away from God and His divine guidance.
John 3:31 says, “The one who comes from heaven is above all.” God has the best perspective and He can see us through anything.
Imagine trying to put a puzzle together without seeing the final picture. It would be pretty difficult. We need to have a better view of the end result in order to plan for how to proceed. God has that perspective and He wants to help and support us.
Some of the tools God gives us to help us gain a new perspective: Bible verses that give us strength and direction, church leaders who help us see God’s guidance, and finally, stepping back in prayer in order to get a better view of where we need to go.
