I am with you

Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

You’ve probably seen the famous poem “Footprints in the Sand.” It tells the story of someone who dreams they’re walking along the beach beside the Lord while scenes from their life flash by. Many times they see two sets of footprints in the sand, but then notice that during the lowest points of their life there’s only one set. The poet says, “I don’t understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me.” And the Lord replies,

My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.

Think about that for a moment. It was then that I carried you.

I don’t know about you, but when I look at the world around me, I see so much pain. So much hurt. I look at my life and the path I’ve been on for the past seven months, and I can recount all the struggles, much like the writer of this poem. Maybe you can relate, too.

It was then that I carried you. Just think about that.

Y’all, God loves YOU. And He has promised to be with you always. He sees you, and He deems you worthy of His love. No matter what you’re going through, you’re not going through it alone.
