Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear.” Hebrews 13:5-6
Someone once wrote, “You can tell the size of your God by looking at the size of your worry list. The longer your list, the smaller your God.” Hmm. How big is your God? How long is your worry list?Do your concerns revolve around money or things you don’t really need? Is your discontent rising up because you don’t have the latest cell phone, the most fashionable clothes, the best looking lawn, or the nicest car?
Today, consider writing down your worries. See how many things you can cross off your list, knowing you can be content with what you have.
Then hand over to God whatever worries are left, trusting Him, your helper, to provide whatever you truly need.
Lord, help us to be content with what we have and trust You to provide all the things we truly do need. Amen.
