Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
How was I to possibly know that when the year 2020 started, Psalm 46:10 would be the significant Scripture that I would depend on month after month? It’s a popular verse in Scripture, often quoted, and for me, perhaps like others, I often placed my emphasis on the “Be still” part. Very quickly, the COVID-19 pandemic changed my emphasis, which then deepened my understanding of God’s faithfulness.
Day after day, through disappointments, loss, and anxiety, God has continued to clearly say “Know that I am God.” And with those words ringing in my ears, I fully trust Him to lead me through whatever is yet to come. He never disappoints – His unconditional love and presence stills my heart and mind and I am filled with thanksgiving for all He continues to do for me. I look forward to seeing what God will unfold for me in 2021 and I trust Him totally.
