There is a time for everything…a time to weep and a time to laugh. Ecclesiastes 3:1,4
One of my favorite things about spending time with the staff and kids in our nursery is the laughter we share. I can’t recall a time when one of the children didn’t say something or do something adorable that made us laugh.
Laughter is a natural stress reliever. It can relieve physical tension, anxiety, fear and worry. Some say it can even boost your immune system!
Solomon told us that there is a time for everything and certainly there is a time for laughter. I do believe God wants his children to laugh and have moments of joy.
It may be hard to laugh when things aren’t going well but those are the times when something light and funny may be just what we need to lift our spirits and handle our stress. Take a few moments to find that bright spot to lift your day. Maybe read a funny story, talk with a funny friend, or watch a funny video or TV show. Take time to laugh!
Father, thank you for the wonderful gift of laughter. I pray I don’t get so burdened by life that I don’t take time to see the moments of happiness peeking through the clouds. Refresh my body and mind with this marvelous gift.
