Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. Mark 10:9
Anyone who knows me knows that I love HGTV and home improvement shows. I regularly watch Property Brothers, Home Town, and many others, but one of my all-time favorites is Love It or List It.
If you’re not familiar with the show, each episode features a couple who must choose between their current home after renovations or a new home that better fits their needs. Realtor David and designer Hilary compete for the homeowners’ final decision to stay or go-Love It or List It?
When it’s decision time, I usually think the couples should list it. The new homes are usually newer, bigger, and much nicer. So which option do you think couples choose most often? To stay in their current home and “love it” of course!
Why would anyone choose the imperfect home over the dream home? The answer is simple—the imperfect home has a story and memories from years gone by.
Some things in life are worth holding onto, not despite the imperfections but because of them. Your marriage is one of those things. So make yours a “Love It” episode. Make the decision today to focus on the positives and enjoy the imperfections as you build a shared history and a lifetime of special memories.
