I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. Psalm 143:5
Photographs capture a moment in time. While I was putting together a scrapbook for my oldest son’s high school graduation, I had the joy of going through old photographs. This is one of my favorite things to do, as I love seeing all the memories captured in time. This walk down memory lane was like watching my favorite movie and hearing my favorite song at the same time.
Psalms 143:5 reminds me that when I read my morning Bible devotions I can remember and meditate on all that God has done for me. Just like a photograph reminds us of a moment, so can God’s word. We can hold to His word to comfort us and give us joy.
My challenge to you is to find an image or photograph that brings back a good memory. Maybe it’s a picture of your family, your favorite vacation spot, or even your pet. Put this picture near your computer or fridge to help you remember throughout the day. And give thanks for the memories!
