“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3
This psalm makes me think about morning prayer. There is a challenge in it that encourages me to pray in morning. That the best thing to do in the morning would be to lay out my requests, my plans, my thoughts, before the Lord. What better way to start the day?
There is also something else to consider in this verse. Not only am I expected to pray, but there is an assurance that the Lord will hear my voice when I pray. I am assured that the Lord will listen. For the Lord our God is one who listens when we pray. God, in the morning, hear my voice. Listen to my prayer.
