“You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.” Job 22:27
What was the last thing you prayed for? Was it for yourself or for someone else? Now imagine that prayer is like rising up like a butterfly into the air and gaining more and more height until it is out of sight. God hears every prayer, said and unsaid. Our prayers are lifted to Him.
I keep a prayer journal and jot down prayers for myself and others. I was looking back at my prayer journal notations from the last few years. Wow! I was reminded that God answered my prayers in ways I couldn’t even imagine.
Prayer changes everything. By asking God for help or healing or even saying “thank you God for…” we are acknowledging Him in our thinking. God is not just our safety net when times get hard. He is always with us.
Here are some ideas to help you incorporate prayer into your daily schedule:
1) Write in a prayer journal (it doesn’t need to be fancy! An old notebook will work!)
2) Pray while you are driving (not just for people to stay in their lane…)
3) Go on a walk and pray as you see God’s beautiful creation.
4) Pray right before going to bed to create a habit of prayer at night.
