Remember God’s Timing

December 14, 2020

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11: 1-2

This passage was written about 700 years before Christ. Even early on we were promised a Messiah: Christ the Lord. Wow, 700 years! Today we want everything fixed and taken care of in an instant. This passage reminds us that even when we think things are dead and are not going to grow, they will. We need to be patient, to slow down and wait and see what is to come. This Advent, let us not reflect on what we need right now but on what is to come in God’s time.

Dear Lord, help us remember your timing in what is to come. Amen!
