Repentance

October 30, 2020

But the Israelites said to the LORD, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.” Judges 10:15

There are moments in Scripture when God’s people confess their sin. They acknowledge their shortcomings and fall before the Lord. These are powerful moments.

This particular verse is one of those moments. Notice how the people lay themselves at the feet of God in their confession. They lay exposed and vulnerable to the Lord’s mercy.

Imagine going before God and saying, “Do with us whatever you think best.” This statement is a laying naked before God.

When was the last time you participated in true confession with God? I’m not talking about confessing to a pastor or church leader, but confessing sin directly to God. Laying your life before him in repentance. Consider this verse in scripture an invitation for all of us to make this a regular part of our prayer life. Let us confess our sin before the Lord and receive his gracious forgiveness. Share a prayer now with the Almighty and hear the grace of God speak to you.
