You and your family and friends are all invited to a Church Family Fellowship Trip to Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, otherwise known as Rocky Point! All are welcome!
Bring your whole family for 3 days of fun in the sun, all while spending time getting to know your church family even better! This is the perfect opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships that could last a lifetime! We have a relaxed itinerary – feel free to join in on as much or as little as you wish! We are asking trip attendees to bring cleaning supplies to benefit a local orphanage. See trip details.
We are staying at the beautiful Playa Bonita Hotel and we already have a room reserved for you! All you have to do is let us know you are coming by confirming your spot below!
Did you Know?
Lutheran churches in the Phoenix area have a longstanding tradition of taking trips to Playa Bonita in Rocky Point. Lutheran groups have been staying at this particular hotel (and adjacent RV/tenting park) for many years. Our very own Pastor Joel Bjerkestrand first went down with his congregation back in 1983 and kept on going all the way through 2004. Various Lutheran congregations have joined in the fun throughout the years; Pastor Jeff Ruby and Pastor Matt Knopf have both been on trips here with Phoenix-based Lutheran Churches. It is a great way to build community. Let’s keep the tradition going
Cost
Reservations include accommodations at the hotel, a Friday group lunch and dinner and gathering time, a beautiful Mexican Saturday night group dinner, and a keepsake 2022 La Casa Rocky Point T-shirt!

Have you ever had worship on the beach? Imagine joining your church family in praising God on the beautiful beaches of Rocky Point. We will sing, pray, and commune together on the shores of the Gulf!

Itinerary
Friday (breakfast on your own)
– 7:30am – Caravan gathering at the Best Buy parking lot, 1408 N Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85395 Map Departing at 8am SHARP!
– 12:30pm – Lunch at La Casa del Capitan
– 3pm – Check-in to the hotel
– 4pm – Welcome message – hotel pool
– 7pm – Dinner and fellowship at the hotel restaurant.
Saturday (breakfast and lunch on your own)
– 9am – Head to Casa Hogar Esperanza Para los Ninos to deliver supplies. See the enclosed page for more details. Meet in front of the hotel
– 2pm – Beach Bible trivia; How much do you know! On the beach
– 7pm – Dinner and fellowship at the hotel restaurant.
– 8pm – Piñata fun!
Sunday (breakfast and lunch on your own)
– 10am – Worship our Great GOD on the beach. Please bring a chair!
– 12pm – Hotel check out

Last Year's Trip - 2021
Dios es Grande!
We had a great time down in Rocky Point Mexico! Our group lead by Pastor Matt, enjoyed fellowship, visited an orphanage, shopped, golfed, enjoyed the beach, learned about the bible with trivia, broke bread together and concluded on Sunday with Pastor Susan Ramsey coming out of retirement delivering a powerful, visual message based on John 21:1-22, “Jesus At The Beach”
