Seek Him

August 10, 2020

We have no might to stand against this great company that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.
2 Chronicles 20:12

Three armies were coming to attack Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. At first, the king feared for himself and his people, but then he “set himself to seek the Lord” (2 Chron. 20:3) and prayed.

Jehoshaphat recalled God’s strength and power. Then he asked for God’s help, admitting that he and his people didn’t have the strength to fight the armies that were coming against them. They didn’t know what to do, but their eyes would be on God.

When you don’t know what to do, you may worry at first. But prayer will get you realigned with God. Seek Him and recall your strength. Admit your weaknesses and confusion. Then keep your eyes on God, and you’ll gain the victory He provides.

Lord, You are strong and mighty and we are weak. Sometimes we just don’t know what to do. Help us keep our eyes on You, knowing that is where victory lies. Amen.
