A plain and simple life is a full life. Proverbs 13:7 (The Message)
I love this verse. I love it so much that I have it plastered on the inside of my planner. I put it there years ago as a reminder that life needed to slow down. I yearned for more white space on my calendar and longed for the day when I would have more time.
Well, that yearning and longing prayer was answered – as COVID-19 cleared my calendar and everything came to a halt. While it has been a time of concern and uncertainty, many blessings have come out of it as well. Time well spent with family is one of them, and less time doing and more time being has been another.
In my planner, underneath the Proverbs verse, I also have this quote from Henry David Thoreau: “Our life is frittered away by detail…simplify, simplify.” I love reading these two sayings as a pair, for they complement each other beautifully. A simple life is very fulfilling, and don’t get caught up in the details. Go live your best life today!
