God shows no favoritism, no partiality. Romans 2:11
As our televisions and computer monitors flicker with images of rioting across our nation, we need to realize the problem is not “them.” The problem is “us.”
All people are God’s children. We need to continue to speak up for the marginalized, the disenfranchised, and those who differ from us. The story of Pentecost we just celebrated is the story of God speaking in many tongues, many languages, and to many nations.
Let us continue to heed the words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said he longed for a day when his children would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
We have a long way to go, but God instructs us to keep striving and show no partiality. Why? Because He doesn’t, and we are to be imitators of God.
