They asked, and he brought them quail and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. Psalm 105: 40
These past weeks, social media has been a trending topic. I hadn’t given it much thought until I heard someone say it’s called a “feed” for a reason.
The “feeding” topic was brought up by others too. One friend asked, “What do you fill your tank with?” Another asked, “What feed do you usually prefer?” referring to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, MeWe, TikTok, Likee and other social media and news outlets. But for me this had a different meaning.
I started to ask myself, What am I feeding on? I’m the first to admit that social media can be an amazing source of connection. However, when it’s the last thing I look at before bed or the first thing in the morning, I never really feel “full.” I feel “less than” or “wanting more.” It’s a staggering connection to make.
However, when I read the Bible, listen to worship music, and talk with my MOMS groups, they lift me up. I don’t feel the cravings that I do when I leave social media. I feel whole, worthy, and renewed! I feel connected for the greater, merciful, and I feel that I am enough. I am full.
So, what are you feeding on? God gives us the bread of life in abundance, so use it.
Dear Lord, thank you for renewing my weary soul with your leadership through your words and worship music. Please help those who are starving to feast with you.
