SEARCHING THE PSALMS is a new Bible Study that will:
- Introduce readers to the Songbook of the Old Testament
- Reveal the various types of Psalms
- Demonstrate how the Psalms have been incorporated into Lutheran liturgies
- Help each of us grow closer to God in our devotional lives
Join Dr. Wayne Wilke as we look at Wisdom Psalms, Individual and Community Psalms of Praise, Individual and Community Psalms of Lament, Royal and Messianic Psalms, Psalms of Zion and Creation and Liturgical Psalms in Liturgies.
Meet the Educator
Rev Dr Wayne Wilke
Dr Wilke is a retired Lutheran pastor and professor with over thirty years of experience teaching in Lutheran colleges and seminaries. He enjoys teaching classes on books of the Bible as well as topics that arise throughout the Bible. Also, the broad theme of religion in American life is a rich source of topics for future study. The goal in every class is to assist each student to answer the question, “How does this apply to my life today?”
Wayne and his wife, Grace, are frequent travelers.
